Sorry, haven't wrote in a long time, but had to add these photos of my recent spring outings to two of my favorite spring 'gill lakes. My latest trip on Wed. 26th of May was on my "secret" up north lake. The first few hours of the day were slow and the big 'gills and 'seeds weren't in there usual location. The last hour and a half of the day in late afternoon I moved down the shore to an area that I don't usually fish and got into an unbelievable pod of fish in about a 75 yd. section of…

I have been catching these small sucker or chub like fish this year for the first time and dont know what species it is. They seem to like small artificials ,wormpieces and mealworms though. They came out of a small New Jersey brook and hang out with suckers ,chubs and stocked Trout.Any one know what it is?

I just got off the Wolf River, a small 75-yard wide stretch of river that runs through the center of Wisconsin at Freemont. The river is broken up by lakes and in the Spring, massive schools of white bass and large groups of walleye migrate between the lakes via the river.
We usually go up here every year about the time that the lilacs bloom in hopes of getting in the "bite" when these fish eat everything and anything in sight. This is my second year and I am starting to…

Guys this little item is a must if you are fishing larger ponds and small lakes. I am talking about my Pelican Raider 8 ft. pontoon boat. Two individuals’ can fish comfortable with room for your tackle. The seats can slide forward and backward depending on how much leg room one needs. I decided to add an anchor in case I am in…

went out for some gills friday and decided to take some minnows just in case. Caught 2 small gills and 40 crappie. . Everywhere you looked, crappie were chasing minnows. Used chartruse jig tipped with minnow, They liked it better with no sinker. Out of the forty, thirty eight were females with eggs.Where were the males? Dreaming of spawing is all I can think of.Looking for comments
