Sorry, haven't wrote in a long time, but had to add these photos of my recent spring outings to two of my favorite spring 'gill lakes. My latest trip on Wed. 26th of May was on my "secret" up north lake. The first few hours of the day were slow and the big 'gills and 'seeds weren't in there usual location. The last hour and a half of the day in late afternoon I moved down the shore to an area that I don't usually fish and got into an unbelievable pod of fish in about a 75 yd. section of shoreline. The fish were wedged between downed cedars and pines amongst the emerging lilypads in about a foot of water just moving up on there beds and it was total sight fishing. I picked up about twenty five- thirty fish, the smallest being 10 1/4" and the largest 12 1/4"! It was some of the funnest fishing I have had in years, and of course all of the fish were released. The most productive lure that day outproducing even crawlers was a plain 1/16 oz. jig and a 1" power craw in chameleon color.
