Foam Bugs/ Kreinik Braid 3 Replies

Below are 3 foam bluegill/crappie, perch, etc. bugs I tied recently. I used Kreink Braid for the under-body to add a little flash, and also for a tail. There is no end to uses for the Kreink Braid. I…Continue

"Spring Cricket" 11 Replies

One thing ive noticed about favorite or popular B.Gill baits is the B.Gill's fascination for rubber legs… one of my most favorite ties growing up as a kid was the foam spider with those rubber legs.…Continue

Ok, I'm in!

What's the saying?  "There's nothing new under the sun in fly-tying?"

I'll try and repost the SBS I did of my Electric Chicken jig.  Might do some others as well.

Comment by Bruce Tomaselli on June 13, 2016 at 4:02pm

I agree. There really aren't many new flies, just variations on the old, but it's fun trying.

Comment by jim cosgrove on June 13, 2016 at 3:58pm

very few flies or jigs are completely unique.most are just modified versions of someone else's tie,and they probably got inspired by someone else.i really like how flies especially are public domain.very rarely see a patent or copyright on a fly.but if you get every component for every cool fly you see you would be broke fast

Hey Slip Sinker,

This is a great idea. I have one I'd like to post as soon as I get a photo.

Thanks for starting this database.

Oh wait, static discussion is not programmed into this interface. Crap. Go ahead and posted the How to Post right into the group's summary.

Comment by Leo Nguyen on June 13, 2016 at 10:48am

Sounds good. Make sure this is posted as the static discussion on How To Post a Tie.

Comment by Slip Sinker on June 13, 2016 at 10:44am

so keeping it simple:

  1. one discussion per fly
  2. add a photo first  showing the creation
  3. then text following describing your creation... history, motivation, full description
  4. maybe showing a sequence of steps in tying etc
  5. then there will be a history of comments following

does this sound ok with everyone?
