Mike Rowden, I used to play with June bugs as a kid. We would tie a thread or light string on their legs and the would buzz all over the place. I wish that I had thought of your idea. I do see how they would be deadly for many kinds of fish. Thanks

Some of the baits I ve caught fish on : Dragon flies coming out of Larval stage(Rainbow Trout), Chubs cut bait (Brook Trout) Crayfish (Bass and Brown Trout) Mussels cut bait (Perch ) Perch Eyes ice fishing ( Perch and Bluegill)

I'll be ordering mine soon. The DNR stocks trout in the local lake in March, and they work great for trout, too. I've caught trout, bluegill, crappie, bullheads, small bass, and small channel cats on them in the lake. I like to fish them with the fly rod. Something about the worm on a hook with no added weight that seems to work better than with a spinning rod & slip float (and a split shot on the leader to get them down).

I just got my order in for 1000 wax worms shipped for 33.00, they should last at least a month or 2, these are my favorite bait for big gills... I use a lot of crawlers too.

I fish a lot of artificial, including flies. Probably 80%.
But I believe living baits are the best overall.

Thursday night we went fishing from 8:30 pm  till 10:00 we were using Crawlers and wax worms caught fish on more casts than not 42 fish between the 2 of us gills might have hit waxies a little better, but the bass were all gaught with crawlers. 18 bass and 24 gills, no gill was under 8 inches  with at least 8 being around 10 inches or a little better , I have never caught fish at this pace with jigs, spinners or plugs .... it could be that i'm just way better with live bait, but I think its more about the bait LOL

CHUCK;; FOR WHAT ITS WORTH; I GENERALLY ALWAYS USE NITE CRAWLERS;; BREAK THEM UP IN SMALL PIECES; PUT ONTO SOME KIND OF A BUG;; I CATCH 2 ; OR 3 BLUE GILL BEFORE I HAVE TO RE-BAIT.  PLUS;  I CATCH A WIDER VARITY OF FISH THAT WAY;; BASS ; CATFISH; STRIPE; RED EARS; P SEEDS HAVE CAUGHT CRAPPIE ALSO; MEAL WORMS HAVE THEIR PLACE;; BUT I TEND TO DO A LOT BETTER WITH NITE CRAWLERS

Yes Chuck . They usually only catch one fish before falling off the hook though . I tend to use them when the water temps are cold .Worms or crawlers pieces catch at least a few fish before ineffective . Mealies work though .Perch and Gills like them for sure as well's occasional Bass .I use them a lot through the ice .
