Curved nymph hook for live bait?

Hey, has anyone tried curved nymph-type hooks for live bait fishing?

Unlike a barbed hook it may lose some bait, but I'd try it. I made some ice flies with scud hooks, and as long as I kept pressure on the fish I didn't lose any fish and the waxies hung on pretty good.

I've been known to thread a waxworm or two on a small fly hook when the bite was poor using flies. Never have that much of a problem keeping bait or fish on. I usually use barbed hooks, but crimp the barb, though. About the only time I want a barb on the hook (for fly rod fishing) is for the spring rainbow trout release. Them dang fish can and will throw even a barbed hook!
