Bluegills and Botanicals if you read the fine print. It seemed appropriate, as those two subjects definitely hold a special place in my family's hearts.
I thought I would share a little bit of the maple syrup process, for those who might be curious as to how it's done. I may add additional photos as time permits.
Disclaimer: No Bluegills were harmed during the making of this maple syrup.

I have used 6 pound mono with a 4 pound leader. My problem is I get loops in my line and my leader tangles sometimes when I cast a slip bobber. Im looking for a line for my spinning reel that doesn't do this. Anybody with helpful info would be appreciated Thanks

Had the most incredible day of Bluegill fishing in my life yesterday at Lake Barrett (San Diego). Wide open bite on my fly rod that lasted all day. Fish averaged about a pound each, most over 10 inches. It was the kind of day I dream of, had to quit about 4pm after landing about 300 bluegill and a handful of bass.Yes, literally bit on almost every cast. Actually cramps in…

LOFR AND CARL DESERVE A MUCH APPRECIATED THANKS ...... WHAT ELSE CAN I SAY .
THESE TWO GUYS made the trip a success . Not because of the fish we did or didn't catch but getting to meet everyone I've been talking to on here for a long time ... Much overdue in my estimation. Carl is a great guy and it's an honor to call him my friend and the same goes for LOFR .....
I CAN'T POST A PIC OF LOFR , BUT THEY ARE IN MY COMPUTER AND IF YA WANT TO MEET THE GUY COME TO A RENDEZVOUS .…

I'd like to just reiterate a couple of my thoughts about bluegill.
Many of us started with bluegill. When we caught bluegill as kids, we were proud and excited. They were willing participants in the angling game, and were scrappy fighters for their size. Bluegill were also beautiful by any standards, and were curiously varied and original.
Many of us drifted away from bluegill as we aged. We became jaded, and influenced by those around us. We were told that…

The International Game Fish Association has declared Hector's 5 pound 12 ounce Redear Sunfish, caught Feb. 16th 2014 in Lake Havasu, Arizona, a World Record.
I was chosen to do the mount of the fish and am honored to present to you the completed custom cast replica of the new World Record Sunfish. The artificial nightcrawler and drop shot rig depicts…

So I recently decided to start my own blog. I love to fish, and love to read about fishing, so why not share my experiences with the world. I would love to get some feed back from the fisherman who appreciate my most cherished species, sunfish. I hope you guys enjoy the read, and let me know what you think.

I have been asked a few times on this site what tactics I use to catch crappie and blue gill through the ice. So I thought the best way to answer would be to put a post together with some…

So I was all set to go kayaking with a couple of buddies in a little under 2 weeks, combining it with seeing my son in Savannah on the Saturday night. Complications arose and first one buddy and then the other had conflicts arise and can't go. I am not paddling in the remote area we were looking at alone. After a little poking around, a plan B arose...

A quick entry mostly to journal it so I will remember some things better next time. It was not as low as I expected. The release was only 200 cfs, but we have had rain every few days and the creeks in the 15 or so river miles from the dam to my put in were flowing pretty good. I was remembering what it was like from years past that low but I was right below the dam and it was during the drought. In the small rapids it was a little tight but between them there was plenty of water. I should…

Hi Andy is OptiMystic: Welcome. This is a small group here in the panhandle who love to fish for bluegills and other bream types. We don't have a lot of activity going but from time to time someone will offer a comment. If we can be of any help just post a note and we will do our best to lend a hand.
There are several good lakes and rivers not far from Crestview. I fished Hurricane Lake this morning which is out in Santa Rosa County about 15 miles or so from Crestview.

Only my second outing of the year; the first was a total bust in wind and waves at a big lake. It was a really nice day for January, but I had a lot to do around the house. But I could manage an hour just down the street.

I started a discussion a fishing trip I may do tomorrow (as I write this). Then I thought maybe I shouldn't after seeing this thread on another forum that shows a very muddy river in that stretch, presumably right after a rain.
Turns out I may be spooking myself…

Thank you for allowing me to join your site. I am an avid fisherman who lives in the Central Arkansas area between Little Rock and Searcy. I am surrounded by great fishing waters and I enjoy pursuing panfish, trout and bass from shore or from my boat. I look forward to learning from you all and maybe I can offer up a tip or two as well. Thanks again.

High hopes for a good start to 2015 didn't pan out today. I went to my home lake with a couple of friends paddling kayaks. We ended up cutting the day short because of the wind.
It was my first time out with my new fish finder and it didn't work. Can't detect transducer. One of my buddies also has a portable Hummingbird and we were able to determine that my transducer is fine. The head doesn't work. So I…
