Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

These guys start biting best when the water temps start falling.....I hope to catch many of these guys this winter......they took a 1/64th bigeye jig under a tiny trout float........lot of fun on a ten foot telescopic......

Thanks John......we are blessed with a large population of Fliers on the Albemarle.......most anglers pass them up because of the smaller average size......I like them because you can catch them year round......they handle the cold well and stay active including during low oxygen periods......I have located pods of trophy fish over the years and they are reliable.......I catch many on small telescopic gear so the fight is still there but not as strong as a big gill or shellcracker in my opinion......
