HEY OLE MIKE, here's an Iowa red ear from Sugema a few years back and I love to fish the south east corner of the state. Ever heard of the Shimmick National Forest?

THANKS FOR THE KIND WORDS TROY and my son and I have caught quite a few of these over the years and he was one of two people who convinced me to try the bugs deep with a very light spit shot. The other fella who convinced me to go deep was my OOOOOOOOOLD BUDDY AL!!!!!!!! Of course this one was an eater .

That's a prize catch right there, one that you always remember. I find myself peeping in the cooler to make sure he's still in there and admire him at that size.

Hey Dick,

Good to hear from you . That is my son Andy in the pic and it was taken about 3-4 years ago an Lake Sugema Iowa. Favorite bait is still the same , PURPLE BEAD HEAD, and a veryyyyyyyyyy close second the green and black ZEBRA I some times call Micros, cause they are so small.

Nice shellcracker David. If you don't mind what was your favorite bait?

Comment by Tony Livingston on February 5, 2012 at 5:14pm
