Let me correct my previous post, I have my worms in a 150 quart Coleman cooler, not Igloo. Sorry. Numerous holes drilled in the top and the lid kept closed. A "few" holes drilled in the bottom to allow water to escape.

Hey Boogieman. I'm having all sorts of trouble getting through on this forum right now. I tried to leave my email on your page but can't, so I'll try it here. Dizzydan at yahoo . Send me something with your phone number on it!

In my area Japanese Beatles are infesting everything that will hold still for it. Sometimes they get on me while clearing them. So I figure what the heck, they must be good for something. So on my next trip out I took a gal. bucket full and guess what? They went crazy. I tip hooked them on the barb. When the gill took the bait they hooked themselves. I never set the hook one time. It was like cocain to them. They usually hit on the fall and I mean inches rather than feet.

I agreed with Bill Musky Modica! From ice out to early spring, hot summer and late fall to ice fishing! When fishing is slow, crystal clearwater or heavy fishing pressure near Chicago and I use live bait! Move around until I find fish! Deeper water and off weedbeds for bigger fish! Also I use a long pole or long rod to put live bait into holes, tight to corner or point of the. edge of weedbeds.

I must confess...I only use live bait during extremely tough bites in gin clear water, and thru the ice....I always have some form of live bait on hand as it can make the difference between success and a brutal skunking.

Lures is fun but I use live baits for big panfish! Leaf worms, giant redworms, leeches, small and large minnows.Few times on crikets. Waxworms, minnows and spikes for ice fishing!
