I'm Back,

Well, I'm back. We, my better half and I have had some health issues. I still have a total knee surgery coming up, but we are doing pretty good. Been pretty busy taking care of each other mainly, which hasn't left room for any fishing. I haven't been any in 2023 and am in dire need. Hoping to go after knee surgery recovery. Been doing some jig tying. A bit and following many tyers on YouTube. Been trying my hand at the mustache minnow. I will include pictures from my phone...I will try to stay…See More

Not losing Fish with right Gear and Technique

The thought that made me think of starting this interactive group was losing fish and why it happens . Many reasons I suppose but sometimes the gear itself doesn''t match up to the task and blaming yourself isn't always fair .  Also lengthy casts are great to cover water but perhaps harder to get a good hookset with that much line out to the fish ,especially with stretch in mono which I use . So figuring a max distance for casting that still is a safe distance from spooking fish but a better…See More

Eric - You are in the Redneck Riviera? I have family in Ft Walton, Destin, Rosemary Beach, Laguna Beach and PCB. I cut my teeth going fishing with my uncles in Phillips Inlet (no longer an inlet; now it's Powell Lake), Choctawhatchee (river and bay), West Bay and of course the Gulf. I am not that envious of the other FL (I also have relatives in Tallahassee, JAX, Orlando and Melrose) - they might have milder winters but the beaches aren't as nice. So you are one of the few who knows the difference between Southern FL and Suhthin FL...

thank you for accepting Eric... you know i was envious of all you Floridians this winter... it was a brutal one for sure here in mid michigan... next year im hoping to spend the winter down there hooking into the snakeheads, tilapia, peacock bass and oscars

Welcome aboard Eric to our group Fishing Electronics. Hoping to better understand our electronics as we know them today. They do so much we just don't realize what all they can do. Hoping we can obtain the information on this site to better understand and operate our electronics. Please feel free to jump in that's how we learn is from each others.

Not a problem!  By all means, post up some pictures of the jigs you've been tying.  You never know, you might have a winner in there somewhere.  Feel free to look through the pictures on my profile, I've got all sorts of flies and jigs in there.
