Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Bought some Lindy Darters. The small ones about 1 1/4 inch and the larger just under 2 inches. Want to try them under the ice this year.

Thanks for the info Ken. I have been there and bought Items there before. Great little place with some great prices.

No John that was the reason I went to the Lindy version. I wanted the Salmo Chubby but the Lindy darter looked the same and cheaper. Being as I don't get out much didn't want to spend the extra money on something I may not even get to use.

Funny Ken ,I was at that site looking at ice fishing stuff when you posted here! almost 1/2 the price of the SDC's. They send me emails about sales ,as I have bought from them before as well as Outlet bait and Tackle. Thanks !

Looks like a great bait but at $9.50-$10  a pop ,I wonder if theres a cheaper bait that may work as well . Were these Lindy Darters as expensive as the SCD's Dick?

I read the same thing I think. They say the little fish ratio is much less because of the larger baits. You fish above the school and load the hooks up with waxies. The larger gill will come up to the baits if there in a feeding mode.

I read where some guys were icing big gills last winter up north on the smallest SCD's...I got all my gills through the ice last year. just a handful, on a #5 Rapala Jigging Rap intended for yellow perch.

I thought they might be a break off of the salmo chubby darter but much cheaper.
