The Virginia , 7 lb 10 oz record on Dec. 31 .Would like to know what the water temps were then but they sure were catches from the colder end of the Picks temp range . Big fish don't get big by being dormant that's for sure . I can't find month documentation for the record 9#3oz Jersey record . I also wonder how big a bait those record fish took .

Ive not kept detailed records over the past seasons, but as you've noted we don't have the northern statins of the breed - just pickerel.
40-50 degree water is in their range, albeit the low end.
