Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Hi everyone,

I know this is a website full of info about the love, gains, and tall tales/tails of our catches. But, one of our members also requested to inform everyone about his loss as well. The loss is not a small one either.

We all know him as Carl Hendrix. He used to be one of our very active posters. However, life can change unexpectedly, and with a domino cascade-like that's hard to simply stop when it's in motion. As jolly-lucky-go-go guy, he would be quite humorous in his own ways. With two kids and a very tollerant wife, he either made you snort milk or handed you a pole to hold in order to keep him at a distance, while he enjoyed the beer that was hanging in the cup holder at the end of that pole you're holding.

On June 18 at 1345 hours (1:45 PM), he received a call from the North Carolina chief of police, indicated his son passed away the night before. The cause of death was pain relievers.  Carl wanted us to know the potential threat of these wonder drugs could do to us. One of his sons was an ex-marine. He was part of the tour Black Hawk Down campaign in 1992-1993. The results from the campaign brought about severe PTSD, just like so many of our American brothers and sisters suffered through the years from the stages of wars. There are also many of us who simply suffered severe bouts of pains and became dependent on these miracle drugs. Those who have found hobbies, such as fishing, to direct all their attention to while attempting to reduce the pains and cope with the PTSD. This is why I'm proud of the BBG family members standing by one another, while helping each other out during times of frustration and needs.

Carl may remain silent during this grieving time, and due to various other personal things to deal with for the past few years, but let's chime in to provide some words of condolences for his loss. We have many brothers and sisters from the armed services among the BBG family here. Just know we also have your backs in showing our respects, willing to welcome you with open arms, and offer our ears to listen.
