Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

here is what my paint booth looks like now, kind of resembles a cardboard box LOL. Any body got any ideas for an economical paint booth. Plans for a wood one? I would like something easy to store too.  for now I just toss this box on the boat but the sides of the box restrict movement of the airbrush. Plus there is now ventilation.

The cooling fan in the computer should be 120AC.  Just need a hammer.

All the fans inside a computer are DC. 5 volt, IIRC, but a little more or less wouldn't be likely to hurt them.

I had a 120 VDC fan that I could have sent you, taken from an old popcorn popper (West Bend Poppery I) that I used to roast coffee with until it died and I bought a purpose-built roaster.  It would have worked perfectly in your spray booth and could move way more air than a computer cooling fan.

Unfortunately, the parts of that popper that I'd been saving in case I bought another one went to the recycler when we move to a smaller house recently :-(

Get one of those variable power supplies at Radio Shack. It plugs in and has lots of voltage and power options.

Mark are you using water base if so I wouldn't worry about a vent unless you just wanted one and if you using an air brush I know your not having a lot of overspray.

:) Dicks right I was'nt paying attention to what paints your using. Your getting a really nice finish with the water based they look great!

The vent fan is a good idea, especially if you are using solvent based. Although you are using minute amounts of paint if you don't put in a fan get a N95 dust mask. Hexavalent Chromium is a toxic additive in some paint, I recently lost a old friend with liver cancer which was likely caused (at least in part) by Hex Chrome. He was an acft mechanic and had a large exposure and was the type not to always be the most careful with such things as wearing a respirator.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.

Mark --- I like the one you have - its recyclable and easy to enlarge, just get a bigger box. After all the end product looks great and that is what I'm interested in . You make great poppers.

I have a nice airbrush, I just need to learn how to use it.

do you use clear cure gue or epoxy.

iv'e  never needed a paint booth.  I use the copic marker and spray gun which has virtually no over spray. I have had a reaction with some clear coats but none with the epoxy finishes I use.
