Very unique approach for a float/bobber.

Check this bullet bobber out. I may be able to take some balsa wood and carve something out as a test. Very inventive. Perfect for the shallow during spawning periods.

Looks like the fellow who invented it has himself a very unique float. I never seen anything like that before but it is quit impressive. I that's something I don't have so guess what LEO, I will have one thanks for the information. Keep finding these good finds they are interesting in the least.

Dick, everything has a purpose, if when something looks like a floating turd *LOL* I went ahead and purchase two sets to test out for the up coming spawning season. I'll definitely use this in combination with the Modica's lure techniques in the shallows, where weed beds and tules will snag the crankbaits/swimbaits for sure. It will be a perfect arsenal for live baits as well, since I can move the live baits from point to point without having to recast too much, covering all the areas without spooking the fish with my idiotic presence. As Jeff Soto has pointed out, boaters tend to drag their anchors and destroy the habitats below. I've already taken the liberty to ensure the habitats are not disturbed, and double sure to enable my baits get to their intended targets with these sets of toys.

 

If all works out well, I'll make a few homemade version of the this bobber, using soda aluminum can cutouts, with balsa wood blocks sanded down for needed buoyancy. Costs will be minimal, but it will teach me to be creative with new ideas on top of this wonderful existing design. Any skill I've obtained that truly works will be recorded and pass down to the next generations.

I'll give the guy credit for creativity. Personally, I think I would prefer sensitivity over being able to steer my float. His float looks like it presents it's widest possible cross-section, or resistance, to the vertical motion that a fish would impart upon taking your bait, thereby rendering it very unsensitive. I don't think it would be a very good float for cold water BG's, or anytime you're dealing with non aggressive, shy biters, especially when using live bait.

Still, I have faith in Dick and Leo... I look forward to your updates, guys!

That's what I was pondering about for the longest time before purchasing. However, the opportunities for a wide range attacks just left me too eagered not to go for it. Since I am hovering over a myriad of species in the shallows defending their territories, the quick swich' motions with slow retrieves will yield optimal advantages for a solid bite. I'll use the sliding rig for the approaches. The crickets will appear to be darting for their lives in the water. The flies will sure mimic fleeing larvae.

Excellent Dick. Let's compare notes. I have my waxies and mealworms in the closet producing 3rd and 4th waves of new larvae right now just for the early to late spring, and a few more waves for the summer. Will use them on one pole with the bullet bobber with the full array of tackle arsenal in comparison to just the normal methods. Let's compare notes!

Basically its a planer board. Might work nice for trolling for crappies when you have multiple rods out. For gills dont think I would use to much.

Trolling with this planer board will not zigzag in and out. Rather, it will just pull outwards if you have multiple trailing rods. I've seen the kayak and boat that was doing 1mph trolling with 3 rods. It was very interesting. 4 rods, I don't know. That might be pushing it. However, the creator indicate that you can have two rods with long lines to cover the larger area, while the rods with the shorter line cover the smaller area. I'll be only using two rods at any given time, so, that won't be a problem. I'll have the camcorder set up to record my days that I head out to show everyone who the bullet bobbers fair out.

Harold I don't know if you can use it on a boat or shore. The video I seen on you tube shows a man casting at a weed bed. This is the advantage I see if it works and I'll find that out when I try then. He reeled at the bullet bobber went behind the weed bed. He gave a little twitch then ran it in front of the weed bed, so he fished behind and in front of in one cast. We already know we can fish both sides with a regular float but take 2 casts to do so. I'll try it out and let you know in this Forum what I think, if it really works or not. The youtube video made me at least want to try it. It is a planer bobber you can move the bullet at your pace as fast or as slow as you please. Ill be updating along with Leo.
