Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Everyone has special terms and nicknames for things that refer to fishing only such as when someone ask you, "Are you doing any good", and you really don't want to tell them what you are catching but you also don't want to out right lie to them, so you say something like, "caught a few"..Is a few a fish or the quantity. It could be from 3 to 10,000..I'll attach a photo of a few....LOLRITF..let's see em folks

One NICE ONE

Other angler, "Are you doing any good?"

Bruce, "Well, I hear they've been gettin' 'em over on the other side".

yep , used that one before

" Man you should have been here yesterday! ".............That's always a good one when you're struggling a little......

I don't understand it last week I killed them here.

As you go into Wingates Lunker Lodge and Marina in Brinbridge Georgia there is a sign which says " Brother they're taring em up" and as you leave the other side of that same sign says.."Well they bit yesterday"   ..LOL

where i fish its just me and whoever i bring with me but if the landowner or his son comes out there i allways tell them the truth and if their fishing i put em on the fish.. if im on them

but if i do go somewhere else and somebody asks i allways say..OH WERE CATCHING A COUPLE LITTLE ONES ...LOL

Just a few little ones.

But I'm usually telling the truth :p

When I see a group of boaters come near us tubers, they would asked us, "Hey, where's do you find the fishes around here?" I simply reply, have you tried in the depth between 10 to 25 ft?" They simply answered with gladness, "Thanks! Let's go guys!" If they don't have fishfinders on their rental boats, well, let just say the entire lake that we're at is between 10ft near the shallows, and 25 feet throughout most of the lake. Not sure if that info would be of help to them, but hey, it's all good.

And the best answer to the question "where'd ya catch em at" is........In their lip!

If I'm catching, I just go with the trusty, "Well, I've managed enough for a piece of bread."

See, that's how we humble folk eat our fish in the South... with a slice of white bread. Not too many people wanna admit to that.

If I'm catching most of nuttin' (which is usually the case), I just say, "Man I hadn't hit a lick all mornin'! You know any good spots?"

Now, if they can't take a hint and persist in hanging around, then I don't feel so bad about telling a tale.

For these blokes, I'll snap my fingers and say, "Oh yeah, I forgot  - I did catch that carp (or bowfin, eel, sucker - - whatever fish is most hated in your region). I didnt know they got like that around here. Heck, maybe I'll catch another..."
