Barb less hooks

Last year I decided to take of the barb of all my hooks because, I think is the better way to take my kids fishing. Since that time I don't see differences in the quantity of fish that I can't catch. So what do you think?

Ice Fishing

Been a while since I've been on the blog. I was busy with the fall striper run in CT and never got any panfish to hit locally before ice started to finally form.

Have been out on the ice 4 times since it became reliable in CT.

Jigged up a number of calicoes with a chrome blue Rapala Jigging Rap W-2 rigged with no extra bait while at Dog Pond.

Have been to a quarry in Wilton twice recently and jigged up a number of 8" bulls and a few yellows all…

2013 - Will Be Great

So 2013 is off and running. There is very little ice on our waters here, so no hard water to stand on, cut through and pull some panfish through, instead, time to get some homework done and time to for training.

I have begun training hard to get ready for a big fishing gear, rehabing an old arm injury and getting the weight off. Three weeks into the year, I hate lifting weights, but I know I will need it. I am going to have a challenging 2013 and accomplish a lot in fishing. If I…

The interpid angler

I watched 4 guys pile into a small jon boat yesterday and head out. The wind was blowing fiercely and it was cold... it had me ducking for a lee shore. These intrepid blokes didnt have 6" of gunwale showing, yet they were undeterred. Part of me was worried for them, the other half applauded their tenacity.

I hope things turned out well for them....

www.meanmouthbass.com

Well, folks...I got a little bored this weekend and created a new website.

www.meanmouthbass.com

Non-interactive, but meant to show off a few types of hybrid gamefish, and also promote some friends businesses.

What do you think?
