Time Management and Ice Fishing?
By NathanKrusko “Fishman”
Team Panfish Persuaders
How does this make any sense? Good Question. If you properly
manage your gear, you will have more time with your line in the water.
I will give a few good tips to help keep your lines wet in a more
productive manner. A dry line catches no fish!
Tip 1: Auger
This is the quintessential beginning to your fishing trips. If you are
trying to drill your holes with a dull…

Lately I have been thinking bout what should I conserve more time for fly fishing only or conventional fishing. I have been thinking about being only a fly fisherman because thats what im loving more and more everyday. but forwards as conventional fishing thats what I have known every since I first started fishing so thats alot of fishing. but I think I might go towards fly fishing only because you just dont see a warmwater fly fishing everyday you know.
WHAT DO YOU THINK? please let…

Never heard of such a thing but this fish made me wonder. It is a largemouth as I see it but looks almost like the color of a bronzeback. It didnt fight like a smallie I'll tell you that. It's too green to be a smallie and doesnt have smallie verticle bars but where are the side markings and green/white/black colors of a 'normal' largemouth?…

I have found that pieces of clams work well as bluegill bait. Don't get minced clams as they are too small. Also small elbow macaroni cooked half the time recommended, and then cooked in clam juice until the clam juice is almost gone works very well too. It looks like a larvae, they love it.

Cold Fronts
Tight Lipped
Tough bite
These last couple of cold fronts that have blown through our area seems to have shut the fishing down…well seems is the key word. Actually you can still have a pretty good day at catching your target species.
Typically when I see a cold front my first thought is to down size my bait. The second thing I’ll do is slow down my presentation.
These two options in creating that…

Hey folks, I haven't been able to get out to the lakes like I have in the past due to transportation issues. When I have gone, I've been able to pick up crackers and gills between a 1/2 pound to a pound. I'm compiling a CD of photos from the beginning of the season to about mid July then I'll post what I've caught. Haven't been able to get up to Callaway Gardens yet, but that trip is on the horizon. They say that the crappie are still being caught on artificials only and the gills on live bait.…

It is always a pleasure when you can take kids who have seldom if ever been fishing, and put them on top of a good school of bluegill. I knew when I left the house this morning that it was going to be a day when I didn't get to fish myself. Even the father of the kids who were with me was as inexperienced as they were. I had to show each of them how to hold the pole, bait a cricket, and remove a fish from a hook. Within an hour you would think they were all seasoned fisherman to hear them talk.…

Sorry, haven't wrote in a long time, but had to add these photos of my recent spring outings to two of my favorite spring 'gill lakes. My latest trip on Wed. 26th of May was on my "secret" up north lake. The first few hours of the day were slow and the big 'gills and 'seeds weren't in there usual location. The last hour and a half of the day in late afternoon I moved down the shore to an area that I don't usually fish and got into an unbelievable pod of fish in about a 75 yd. section of…

This news flash just in!
Bruce Condello holds his fish out in front of him for photos! Now I know this may come as a shock to many of you, but my secret is finally out. :-)
If you would like to know some of the secrets to this technique, read on!
Rule #1. Catch a big fish. No matter how hard you try, you're not going to make a 9 inch bluegill look like a 12 inch bluegill, nor will you be able to make a 15 inch bass look like a 22 incher. There…
