Although I no longer live up where you are, I used to 25 years ago. At that time I used to fish a private 6 acre lake at my then church camp, Lake Region Christian Assembly, aprox. 6 miles from the mall on US 30. Can no longer remember the name of the mall but I'm sure you know it. Used to fish just beyond the weed line and catch hundreds of bluegill. Although the camp is a private christian camp, they had always allowed visitors to come in and fish, and I suspect they still do. You might check it out.
