Went to Old Hickory this morning to work out some bugs in my Garmin 7 SV, no luck there. Decided while I was there to fish a little. Only had a couple of hours so, I tried a little bass fishing. Bluegills wouldn't leave my slider alone so, I tried a white Roadrunner. Nothing, not even a sniff. Back to the slider, peck peck peck. Changed to a dark Crappie Slider and it was game on. Has anyone shopped at one of the Field and Stream Outdoor Stores?  How's their fishing department? Grand opening this weekend about an hour from me ...........Looks alot like Bass Pro...

I went out on the kayak the other day and found a bunch of agressive gills in deep water (25'-30') off a weed edge. Took several 8 inchers for a meal but also got this beauty that was just shy of 11". Released it to swim again.

I went exploring for good metro sunfish lakes. Living in the metro area, trophy sunfish is not something you will come across. I've never targeted sunfish specifically, especially bluegills. But there are a few lakes currently capable of producing a limit of 8" for those who wish to keep some. I didn't start my sunfish exploring until mid July. Was kinda preoccupied with other things(bass tournaments).
