Do you love big bluegill?

Frank Manuele Baits

I got these from Frank, "Paco" Manuele today.
They are very soft, gel-like baits with super-thin, wiggly tails. He makes them himself and they look very "fishy." He also does something interesting on the plain shank jig heads - he has a soft wire wrapped around the eye which is hooked into the body to hold it in place.
seen something like it in the old books, but have never seen anyone today do it.

E-6000 High Viscosity, not Marine, is what you're looking for. White thick crap that's so sticky, it makes the most of the other Marine type adhesives looks like Elmer's glue. I used it on my kayaks to reattach side marker nav lights and a few other loose sealed covers. Just a warning, since it's a thick crap, it will make a massive mess. Little goes a very..very..long way.

I do have a U-Boat float tube as well. And yes, I did compare the other marine adhesive to the E-6000 high viscosity. Bonding strength for plastic-plastic is similar, but E-6000 requires a bit more umph to pull bonding surfaces off, after a maximum cure time of 110 hours. Anything less, it may come off. I'm testing the E-6000 bonding strength right now on of the dual-panes window sliders. Since the slider has an average of exertion force of 140psi from daily pulling and pushing at each of the multiple points (yeah..windows are getting old), we'll see how long that bonding surfaces last.

Yes..yes..I got both, minus the aluminum boats..It works.I don't suggest you drill holes in all of them to test out. Plugging the holes for emergency purposes is fine. Fine a better solution in patching up the leaks is better. Kayaks are made with polyethylene material, which requires certain plastic welding method to fully strengthen the hull. This glue is strong, but will fall apart in time. Float tube bladders are polyvinyl materials. Patching it using this glue with another piece of polyvinyl material is fine.

Jig heads, with the plastics, using the E6000 flex clear adhesive may be best. Extremely low VOC compared to super glues and cyanoacrylate-based glues.

Comment by Leo Nguyen on July 7, 2016 at 8:45am: Glue scents linger, especially when it's trapped inside plastics. We may not be able to detect it, but animals can. But, I have yet to discourage any fish from biting the jig/fly after the glues have been cured. Aged degrading plastic lures, I noticed that was the main culprit.

yes ... Dick ... just a tiny amount does the job.

there is one particular swim bait that we use that is extremely popular with the fish it is extremely soft tagging fish without superglue 3-5 fish tops... with super glue lasts all day... i love it.

i know a lot of people that use it on fly tying ...if i had to pick between head cement on my ties or super glue i think super glue has a less noticeable scent

i think what frank has going here is a fantastic idea though.

It works, although I have a nagging worry about its chemical "scent."
There is no such concern with the wire keeper. It'd main drawback is the time needed to attach the wire.
But, I'm a fly tyer already - I got nuttin but time!
