Truly amazing sunfish. Bluegill, greenies, longears and hybrids have all been conquered....now I need to get into some giant redears like this beast. Way to go!

I'd throw him back if somebody had a gun to my head and I really believed they'd pull the trigger if I didn't. WAIT A MINUTE! If I was stealthy enough to catch that bad boy in crystal clear water, I'd figure I was the baddest boy in that boat and just take his gun away and use it for an anchor. Don't look like you drifted away Kelly. Must of been anchored for the picture takin'. Way to go man!

Bass and redear sunfish (shellcracker) can't cross - two completely different genera. About the only way that could happen would be in a laboratory.

umm...Mr. George trust me when i tell you this isnt a hybrid bream/bass.....its a pure shellcracker.....Zach, these fish came on either a cricket or pink worms fished on flourocarbon line 4lb test, you have to use stealth cause the water is crystal clear and they are SKIDDISH!

Why would you throw him back?

Do you not eat Crappie, Bass, or Catfish?

Can you at least say what you use for bait?
