fishing is great, you never know what you will catch.

Well make sure you harvest gills too. Make more food available for the others.

that sounds great derrick. keeping a few bass is WAY better than 100 bluegills... balance is the key. good sized bass to eat.

My goal in life is to build a 10 acre pond and breed large bluegills, coppernose, crappie(white and black) and of course Florida strain Largemouth maybe smallmouth

Harvesting the little bass allow the other bass to get bigger

I agree Jim.....I caught a bunch of dinks Friday but today the chunks were active and we kept six............I have to have a fish fry every once in a while or my boat tires will be flattened around here...........LOL

On more than one occassion, I have kept a couple of pan-sized largemouths for a meal, from waters that had plenty, as I am sure there were more than ample 1 to 2 pound bass in those environments. I find nothing wrong with harvesting smaller bass for the skillet from time to time. They taste great!

I caught 14 bass today...unfortunately, they all ran from 7 to 11 inches! Dink City!

UNder 14 here we release by law. I dont keep pregos. honestly dont eat fish because everybody around me either doesnt eat fish or they are allergic.

We have to release all of the ones less than 15" here. I don't keep any one of them unless wife wants a bass fillet meal later, so I would keep our limit of 2. If there is any preggo in the mix, I release. One they drop their loads, I keep.
