Do you love big bluegill?
here is what my paint booth looks like now, kind of resembles a cardboard box LOL. Any body got any ideas for an economical paint booth. Plans for a wood one? I would like something easy to store…Continue

Ok, I've been fishing one of these for a couple weeks now, and I've caught all sorts of fish on it. Bluegill, Green Sunfish, BG x RE Hybrids, and a LMB. Because of the spun hair head, this fly…Continue

DICK MY WIFE HERE HAS TOLD ME FOR YEARS ABOUT LEAD IN MY BUTT !!!!!!!!! When she is in a hurry to go somewere it's always the same thing, GET THE LEAD AND LETS GET A MOVE ON!!!!!
Thanks Dick and never would have dreamt it was foam. Great looking treatment though !!!
Rick the hooks I got from Mustad come in a small a little plastic bag almost vinyl looking . I cut it up into 3/16 inch strips. I thought they might be a little heavy but they seemed to work out OK for me. Thank you for your words of encouragement.
I think your referring to the Bluegill Butt Spiders. They have a small amount of lead in the so the butt sinks first but at a slow rate. Thank you Vince for your comment.
Thank you for the words of encouragement. I can tell you they were a challenge cause they are so small. Not something I would want to tie a lot of that is unless the fish can't keep there lips off of them.
Tooty the body material that I used for the wax worms is white foam. I know there has to be something better because I kept breaking it as I was wrapping it around the hooks. I think they have a more pliable foam unsure what it is called it but I'm trying to get some of that.
Rick, a buddy of mine told me he saw a trout circling a Midge like a shark, then inhaling the fly. Midges would make sense, as they are TINY, hard to see, and hatch year-long.
I'm probably going to have to take my fly rod, drop both fly boxes into my pockets, AND LEAVE MY OTHER GEAR AT HOME if I want to catch some trout on the fly. I'll get impatient, watching folks catching trout on spoons and power bait, and switch over. I've only tried probably 4 - 5 flies, instead of throwing the box(es).
It doesn't help that I lost a day off last week, and have to give up a day off THIS week, and don't have the time to try and stop off after work.
Looks like you solved your thread breaking problem. They all look fishy to me and should all catch fish.
The scuds are very good looking - what? did you use for the scud backs.
I like the all black ones with the rubber legs. You have done a great job on all them, Dick.
The scuds are absolutely fabulous Dick, GGGGGREAT JOB ON EM and those do catch fish for sure buddy!!
