Thanks John….I ran out of characters or I would have included the falling wind tide….we were at 1.74 when we left the ramp and when I returned to the truck four hours later it was 1.48……it’s only .26 but the closer we got to the sound the water was ripping which these tidal crappie thrive in, the shad, shrimp larvae and fish fry get pushed into their face. The key is quickly determine the flow and try to drift your bait into their holding structure…..this region has hundreds of flooded structures and typically one or two are holding heavy populations of aggressive crappie…….85 crappie and 10 small largemouth is special in the July heat……six feet max depth with many more shallow than that…
