Midge flies for Gills 1 Reply

These flies are really Trout flies, but the gills will "inhale them". ( they can swallow them deep very easily ) I carry an "unhookem-tool" and usually need it. These flies are  easy to tie except…Continue

Tying the Pot-Luck sinking spider

Great morning as my father, nephew and I found a huge bed of coppernose gills, and it was on after that. We caught our 90 fish limit by 8:00. The full moon is right around the corner!

The best fun in Carolina is a bed of Coppernose Gills!  Like the two in my profile picture. Good luck to you all.

Where do you find large CN bluegills in your area Rob? My family is close by, Rancho Mirage & Palm Desert. May have to get there soon to find those CN's.

My son and I love Bluegill and Redear equally... but there is something about those big Coppernose... The colors around the gill  plate and throat are so iridescent... I think they are one of the prettiest fish there is... They get quite large at the lake I fish... Nice to aboard.
