Hook them under the collar, Frank. They will still be alive that way.

I don't know how to catch them, but you can buy them reasonably at PetsMart.

At night, sit around the yard near the woody areas, and listen to the loudest cricket chirping. The following day, best method is to wet a roll of newspaper, place a few very lightly dampened pieces of bread near the newspaper, and cover both the wet paper and bread with a container with an opened side or sides that can easily be covered up to trap them all. You get at least 20 of them easily.

MY FRIEND SAYS TO SPREAD SOME BREAD AROUND AND THE CRICKETS WILL BE ALL  OVER THE BREAD AT NIGHT. HAVEN'T TRIED IT YET. HAVE HEARD A LOT OF  CRICKETS AT NIGHT LATELY. IF YOU HAVE ANY LUCK LET ME KNOW. I AM SURPRISED HE KNOWS. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO SELL A CRICKET BOX AT THE FLEA MARKET IN FLINT MI FOR OVER A YEAR & NO ONE LOOKS AT IT. MAYBE I SHOULD USE IT. HOW DO YOU HOOK A CRICKET?

If you have a Petsmart or Petco around they sell them as food for snakes and the like, usually you can buy them there
