Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

got out the pasdt couple of days here in northeast ohio, mogadore resovoir . about 4 to 5 in of good ice . caught enough fish each time for a good mess .the wife and i both love gills ,taters ,and good cold beer ,she doesnt care for the beer but i do. fishing really shallow water ,about 4to5 foot . it is hard to find a weed free spot in this end of the lake ,but when you do you ususally do well. we sight fish and it is amazing at what you can learn about how these fish take a bait ,im not sure you could actually see a float or even a spring bobber move sometimes when they take the bait .just absolutely fantastic sometimes .maggots and waxworms both worked . in the low light conditions i used a glow bait with great sucess . best fish so far this ice season has been a 8/3/4in .just short of a fish ohio ,which is an award for certain sizes of fish  good fishing to you all and i hope the ice stays on for a while

i dont know if is uv flashed or not .one of them is a small frostee jig with a small hook ,probably a #10. the other is just a small larval type bait that i got from lure parts on line ,the weather here in ohio is fickle we lost all the ice last weekend from about the 3rd to now but its supossed to get real cold early next week so im hoping for more ice .i wonder if it is like first ice all over again????

Thanks for the report Ronald. Very nice reading and info. By the way, what's the glow bait you're using? Is it UV flashed material?
