Wow. Haven't seen one of those in ages. Great capture..and slimed.

Hey JB those both sound like awesome vacations. This baby was caught in Montana but there are tons in Western Canada. A dude in my dads office just got done with a trip in which he caught a 45 inch pike. Sounds pretty cool to me so I'll get you that info. Tahiti is also special so that's tough. Good problem to have though!

The San Juan worm:

Materials: Red Vernille (kinda looks like a thin pipe cleaner)

Size 12 hook

Red Thread

Wrap the thread around the Vernille and the hook from the back of the shank to the bend of the hook.

You should get something that looks like a mini wacky worm set up.

Done.

Wow! What a great fish!

I'm not really into trout, but the grayling is one fish I've dreamed of catching since I was a kid. Someday when our kids are older, I have two dream vacations I'd like to take with my wife: 1) Tahiti or Bora Bora  2) A week at a fly-in Canadian fishing lodge to catch walleye and northern pike and muskie and at least one grayling. I'll let you figure out for yourselves the order in which I'd like to take those vacations :-)

Do it Greg! Lots of em in Alaska and Canada but I know a really good lake in Montana if you choose so. Easy to get to but you will probably have the place to yourself if you go during the week. June is the best month but later in summer is good too. Bring San Juan worms and copper johns.
