Thank you David I am very lucky. I thought the shot was unusable originally when I saw it because the lens was all fogged up but I fixed it up. My dad and his father went to this spot 11 years ago as well. We fished for them for small fragments of days this year but we landed this guy and another on a 5 weight and then two more on a 6 weight. I hooked one bigger than this guy on a 3 weight though. Last year my dad got a 32" bull on a 6 weight. I broke the tip off of my 4-weight Winston on a screen door also... Only 30 dollars to replace the tip but still annoying not to have it or much money for the last few weeks of summer.
HEY JACOB,
YOU AND YOUR DAD are very fortunate to be able to go all the places you do and have accomplished all you've done. What weight rod did you use on these Bulls? By the way great fish and shot .
This was a fun fish to catch. Standing atop a 15 foot tall shelf my dad had to jump down and net the thing. A few days after that we got one on a dry fly. And the next day we got a 27" bull on a tiny beadhead nymph. Definitely an easy fish to catch for such a rare sighting. Do they have them near you? If they don't I can tell you the spot.
Definitely a bucket list for me on this one. Intriguing.
