Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I am working my way through Steve Hudson's excellent book on learning to tie Brim Flies. This is a #10 long nymph hook, lead eyes. I painted the plain lead with nail polish, sharpie marker, and some Loon stuff over the eye to make it more lifelike, and maybe last longer. I think this one will work.

It looks good, Dohrman.
That's a glowing recommendation, for sure.
I may have to pick up his book. I have tons of them now, and $18 is usually more than I pay for them, but what the heck, you know?

Steve Hudson is the author. It is called Bream Bugs, and is oriented towards beginners in fly tying. I think it is excellent. He has written a number of books. Go to Chattahoocheemedia.com. He does a free fly tying class once a month, and is an excellent instructor. Very highly regarded here in Georgia and a heck of a nice guy. I have several of his books, and they are all very good. My learning curve has gone up a lot since I met him.
