Break out the auger extension and lets go fishing!  We are right on pace with y'all. Here in northern Mn the di-hards that have been getting out the past two weeks have been seeing 30+ inches about everywhere....:-/  I love to ice fish but this year has had so much cold and snow that it's been hard to get out any where unless you have the right equipment.  Bring on the thaw, lets go spring!!

I’ve only been out twice so far this season the ice got to thick quickly and shut me right down. Last time I went out and fished the ice was 24” thick and due to the neuropathy in my arms and legs I was able to drill only one hole. Gas augers are to heavy for me to control. I would like to at least try an electric auger next season.
Jeff last season we were hit pretty hard with cold blasts late winter and the ice left the lakes about the 3rd week in April. Looking at the long range forecasts and below normal temps for march I wouldn’t be surprised at ice out in May.

So hard to fathom after growing up in southern Louisiana and living in the Carolinas most of my adult life......How long for ice out when you have three feet of ice!  Crazy.................

Thank goodness for power augers.
