Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I got these from Frank, "Paco" Manuele today.
They are very soft, gel-like baits with super-thin, wiggly tails. He makes them himself and they look very "fishy." He also does something interesting on the plain shank jig heads - he has a soft wire wrapped around the eye which is hooked into the body to hold it in place.
seen something like it in the old books, but have never seen anyone today do it.

Thanks Paco, and I hope I can get out soon to try them

Paco had some pretty exhaustive recommendations for use, but I got side tracked And lost track of them.
From what I recall, they mostly involve jigging/vertical tail wagging in front of holding fish.
I'll so what I can from a float tube. I'm hoping for some weekend time.

Intriguing. Let us know the jig reaction and the results, especially impact (if any) from wire holding the soft bait.

A similar bait: The Black Leech like bait is responsible for two catches this year for me. A 2# Largemouth and a 21.5 " Bowfin . I fished it  close to bottom with short raising twitches and let them fall back . The Bass took in 3-5 ' of water and the Bowfin in 15'.

fish em like little jerk baits... make some long casts parallel to shore and twitch em back in

They are very jelly soft. The tail is designed as a micro movement attractor. Unlike the curlytails that require some forward movement to, these wiggle more in place.
Finding holding fish that are feeding is the challenge
