Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Skim ice on the ponds this morning, and frogs peeping this evening....

10-1/4" and 21 ozs. Caught 10 today, a couple in the morning and the rest right before dark. This was BFOD

And......the start of a resolution. I will post no further photos of HBG caught by me unless they are a new pond record.. I'll post photos of the boys from time to time, and I may include photos in blogs or discussions, but no more stand alone HBG pics unless they are a personal best.

Thanks everyone. Jim and LedHed....this fish took a red ice jig, size 12. I switched to one of Jim Gronaw's jigs shortly thereafter and found better action..stayed with the red tail though!

I'll post a photo if I catch a biggun', but it has to be a PB or pond record.....which will probably be one and the same. I was looking through my photos here on the site, and I've got over 200 posted...many of which show large HBG.  I've seen my fish, and all of you have seen my fish. Now, I'd like to see other folk's fish!

BBG is growing rapidly...We're getting new members everyday, and It is my hope that they will join in and post some of their own pics. Remember what Bruce wrote on the main page....it doesn't have to be a photo of a gigantic fish, so all of you newer members don't be shy! We've got a great group of people on the site, and we're all here because we appreciate Bluegill.....all 3,538 of us!

So this is me reaching out to all BBG members, but especially those who've resisted the urge to show off their catch thus far....let's see em'! Post those photos, show us a cross section of BG fishing from across the country!

Easy Jen spring is just around the corner it must be it's been about 65 degrees here all day and with the 50MPH wind we had all my I wanted has dissipated to H2O. If I can't have ice give me spring.
