Jim I can honestly say I've been making these for 3 years and have yet to try one. When I do get a chance to go which isn't very often I find myself going to my freshwater shrimp pattern which has worked for me a confidence fly sort to speak so that's what I use 90 percent of the time. I'm going to try and settle down and try my scuds out next time I get a chance to hit the waters.

Thanks Mark. below are my grass freshwater grass shrimp witch I have used and they do catch fish. Used them on my last vacation which was 2 years ago but they caught everything from bluegills, perch, crappies, rock bass, pumkinseeds' warmouths and quit a few bass. I was thinking along your line but wasn't playing around with the UV resin yet and still not sure they held up so well for me. Picture below of my grass shrimp.

nice ties Dick!! I am working on a similar body for a grass shrimp hope they turn out as well as your scuds.  I ordered some uv cure resin so I can put a little shell on the outside hope the resin lives up to its rep.  I have been using clear cure goo for similar applications but find it dries a little tacky. Also I did not know much about scuds and the one thing that stood out when I looked them up on the internet was they are most active only in low light conditions.
