Yea a spinning rod would work they do have some weight to them the eyes are weighted hour glass eyes.

I don't fly fish was thinking bout with spinning rod and reel

Thanks Chuck. You really need to be careful on the fly rod with all them hooks but I'm thinking they will catch gills and many other fish species.
