I ate mostly Lake Trout  .(Every day   for ten days ) I did have a small piece of Grayling and have forgotten the taste but recall it was good!

Wow John what a story! The first night we were there the weather really shut them off so I think they're sensitive to that kind of stuff. We also caught this by where a little creek comes into a lake. We just drifted red copper john nymphs on a five weight fly rod under a strike indicator. Couple of split shots and you're in business. I'm sure you could kill them on spinning gear. We got a 19 inch grayling as well as a 20" cutthroat trout at this lake. Super easy transportation as we can fly direct Chicago to Kalispell, Mt. Drive 45 minutes into flathead national forest and you'd think you're in Alaska. Did you eat grayling while you were in Canada? They are DELICIOUS!

Great fish Jacob.!!What you catch those nice Grayling on?

Fished for Grayling as well as huge Lake Trout once in my life.At Tukto Lodge ,Northwest Territories in August 1999.Didn't know they had them in Montana! I reacll catching them with a size one spinner using a Penn reel with 6 lb test and a 4 piece Eagle Claw pack rod .It was 15 full minutes of catching and then they shut off as quickly  as the action started. We were catching them in a river section coming out of Mosquito lake .I caught a ten pound Lake Trout on that #1 spinner and that took quite a while to land! Ten Lb Lake trout was one of the smallest ! What a trip!!
