Comment by dick tabbert on October 2, 2012 at 9:34am: Nice closeup Jeffrey. I also purchased a Sony camera this year but you have a much better camera with the Carl Zeiss lens. I do own a much nicer camera but a little to pricy to be taking out on the water. Jeffrey always try to keep the sun to your back with the sun on what you want to take a picture of. Never take a picture with the sun directly in the lens.

Even though I have a DSLR that I always take with me on fishing trips, that's usually just for long shots, with my big lens. I do ALL of my fish shots with a compact, much like the one your using here.....

Keep snapping them though, and showing them here :)

Abney on July 8, 2012 at 4:29am: I've used this Compact since the beginning of May...Have got the same advice from a professional photographer Fish.....I'm still playing around with some things to improve the pictures I share....I play around with the camera a lot hen I fish by myself...Out of three hours on the water Saturday, I think I fished for two and snapped photos for the other hour...

Appreciate the advice....might have to sneak out the nice 35mm......LOL

If you haven't / weren't already, have you considered using a polarizing filter to reduce glare ? It might allow you to bump up the exposure a little higher, while still eliminating any blowouts.

Circ. Polarizers are funny though.... depending on how you have them, they can pump up the color..... or wash it out.

Either way, a great shot ! What a pretty fish :)
