WHAT ABOUT USING ; STICH WITCHERY??? FROM WAL MART SEWING SECTION

Comment by dick tabbert on June 20, 2016 at 6:07pm

Thanks Jim. I will probably be coming back to the crystal flash. I tied up a couple mayfly wings and wasn't happy they were spread out all over the place. Tied a couple wraps around the wing material still wasn't happy and I know the flash will be the most durable thing to use. I might wrap the wings before I tie them in next time and maybe even a little bug bond will help.

dick loops of crystal flash make a some what more durable wing and gives a somewhat real effect on the water.

That's on my agenda Leo plastic eye and some foam for flotation.

This is a perfect fly for those late spring and early summer for surface attacks. Rather than brass beads, go for plastic beads maybe? Cheyenne will benefit from the surface funfest during active feeding by the large beasts during the warmer days.

Leo still in the experimenting stages. This one will sink it has a 6mm brass bead as its head. Later I will work on some floaters. Ordered some 5mm brass beads in Green and blue to make darners.

Interesting. So, the cellulose like foam is in the 0.mm thickness? Are you attempting to make them as surface type lure or attempting to sink it ultra slow?

Comment by dick tabbert on June 20, 2016 at 5:11pm

Leo that is a thin foam i mean in the .MM. I really can't see them holding up but nothing in nature is perfect. I may try some bug bond on the wings really don't know I'm still playing around with it got a ways to go before I'm happy.
