You know those little rubber ends on the clips of some Bungee chords .They can be used on  slip floats .Cut off the closed end and slide them onto the float stems to hold the line .Those rubber  things get lost very easily .

thanks Jose and welcome
bamboo poles are fun to make. the trick is to hang them vertically as a drive. this can be tricky when they get very long. but it's an important step to keep them straight.
paper clips do make excellent line wonders, and they can also be made into tip eyes for tying on your line. but I use the loop and of a safety pin for that job.
I also drill out the bottom corm of the bamboo rod,
to create a hollow chamber in the handle. with a tight fitting. wooden plug carved to fit into this opening,

Sure will if I find them Jeffrey. Great idea for a group Jason ,wish there was more input!

I made a few stringers from boot laces and eye rings out of an old pair of boots that leaked.

Hey john, try old fashioned BB's

I think ball bearings would work better than the split shot probably produces a higher more audible pitch .Gotta try that.

Well, the electronic bite alarm sure isn't home made, is it?

Sitting on your truck gate, sipping brewskies and waiting for an alert
doesn't sound so bad. It may not be "real" fishing, but it beats sitting on the couch.

Like those bells real homemade. How about those guys "fishing' for carp who have some kind of electronic beeper that sounds when they get a bite and those rods & reels I may be an old fart but that seems that a lot to spend on catching a carp.

There were 3 guys fishing for carp at the lake all had 2/3 poles and were sitting in their trucks waiting for their beepers to go off and they call it fishing!

CATFISH ALARMS : I like the Eagle Claw bells with their high pitched sound but want to try this home made idea ! Wire ties and bells off a Christmas wreath  and one from a champagne bottle from a friends wedding .Added a  few spilt shot in the wreath bells.

Ah..a homemade insulated box, using existing materials..Can't say it's homemade, and can't say is premade..it's a hybrid LOL
