Do you love big bluegill?

Needed a new camp knife for the up coming season. The the blade is from a old cross-cut saw and the handle is spalted Ash.

keith-- you can make a forge out of just about any kind of bbq grill.  you just need to add a blower to get metal to the hotter temps.  a shop vac. is really to much air power.  if you can find a old hand crank type; or bellows style  works real good.  and of course;; you need a anvil of sorts. some only weight just a few pounds and are cheep priced. others- well ;; can weigh over 200 pounds and cost more.  be sure to wear some type of hearing protection!!  that ringy dingy sound of a hammer;; on a anvil; can be heard for miles!!

Finished the scabbard to my camp knife. I like the holster style for mid sized knives

I have a cross cut metal saw blade I started to make into a knife years ago;; I need to finish it- some day! LOL!!  I used a 90 grinder;; with a sanding disk; to remove the saw teeth.  shaped it a bit; as well as started the knife edge.  have to keep a bucket of water handy to keep dipping it!  definitely do not the metal turning blue;; its a sign of taking the temper out of the metal!!

that's a good looking knife keith!!  haven't thought of using a circular saw blade

Nice job! Is that a splated maple handle? You've motivated me to finish my knife.

Thanks John, I wish he was still here I often have questions I know he could answer.
