I used green or dried leaves to mimic the native vegetation, while presenting the bait to weary fishes, but mushrooms! Talking about creating another level of attraction because of the bacterial scent trail of rotten vegetation. Only experienced mastermind will go this far.

That has to be one of the most unique and inventive solutions Ive ever heard of.Ive thought about packing mud around the swivel on a slip sinker rig to give it some dissolving weight, but mushrooms?

Attach a piece of mushroom found at streamside to the baited hook ,cast to that spot and with a jerk of the rod the mushroom rips off but your bait is out there where you want it . Keep the mushroom on if the fish wants to eat it LOL.
