Got to bring a bit of class back to a loss of class rod ;-) It's like bling-bling the old stuff.
You know, it's can be done using paperclip, a bit of nylon thread from Walmart ($0.99), and a bit of apoxy to seal the thread. I've done this on a few old rods.

Hook Keeper
A very serviceable hook keeper can be added to any rod that lacks one with just a wiring zip tie and a small ring.
I use a small, 1/4" split ring, but any solid metal seeing will work. Cinch the ring tightly onto the rod blank about an inch beyond the handle and clip it off as close as possible using side cutting pliers.
That's it.
When you clip off the zip ties' tag end, it often leaves a pointy little stub. Thus can be a bother, and can even give a small cut.
So, I dress the nub in the flame from a candle or cigarette lighter.
Just touch the flame to the cut nub, being careful to touch nothing else with the flame.
The plastic nub will start to melt and draw back, rounding off the sharp point. Remove the flame at that moment and don't touch the tie for about 10 seconds, so the plastic can cool.
Hey David put your fly tying caddy up here will ya.
