David, Leo, and Tooty,

I am still waiting on my son to buy me a float tube for Father's Day like he said he would.  We will see.  I might have to get out my old tube, which I do not like to use because the weight limit is to little for me.  I let my daughter use it when she fishes with me.  David, the float tube was 7 years old and I definately got my money's worth out of it.  I talked to the Son of the owner, he is going to talk to his mom and try to get me back in the fishing hole,  I am hoping to get back their because the gills are mostly 9 to 10 inches.  I has nice crappie in it also.  I hope to get out on the water this week, one way or another.

That's bad to hear on both fronts. Indeed, always deal with the property owners and not the underlings. On top of that, always meet with the entire family to introduce yourself before cementing yourself that that water hole. Hope you get into the water action soon with your new tube.

Dilly, good to hear from you.
I used to have a rule when I was in real estate: "Always deal with the deal makers." I remember one opportunity spoilt because a mother insisted on acting on her sons behalf, even though she was not legally empowered to. Talk about complicated!
Sorry to hear about your tube, though. I'm selling my kayak next week so I can get one. The last thing I wanted to hear a was tales of one coming apart!

Tooty

A bad couple of weeks.  I got kicked out of my new fishing hole.  I guess their was some miscommunication between the mother and the son who let me fish their.  Then my float tube ripped down the seam, so it is out of action.  I have been catching dinks at the canal.  My son is supposed to get me a new float tube for fathers day.  I hope so.  I can't fish my other spots without a tube.  I seems like summer is haft over.  I am a little bummed.

Dilly.

NEVER tried a weighted spider before but may give it whirl this spirng. By the way thanks for posting the pics in my group Heavy Cover , I really appreciate it .....

yeah, Tooty, saw skimmers, damselfly, and some mayflies but stuck with the popper to cull out the babies.  I switched to the woven (weighted) spider later in the morning and caught a few nice ones with it too.
