I agree David ,a very interesting fish ! How strange ,they get huge but have no teeth to speak of ,and yet they are in the shark catfish family ! Becoming extremely rare in it's normal waters of Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.

Check out this video where Jeremy Wade catches this huge fish on a "single grain of maize" ! Weirdness!! http://animal.discovery.com/tv-shows/river-monsters/videos/mekong-g...

Interesting, they sell those long whiskered cats for aquariums!
I read the Mekong giant is dwindling, thanks to all the usual reasons.
It is truly a beautiful beast.

I am fascinated by the Mekong Giant Catfish .It has near total lack of  barbels !! I still cant see the barbels on pictures I've looked at . http://wwf.panda.org/about_our_earth/species/profiles/fish_marine/g...

Outrageous are  the Asian and Amazonian Red Tail Catfish with their super long whiskers:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemibagrus_wyckioides https://www.google.com/search?q=red+tail+catfish+feeding&tbm=is...

I think that was the best episode they did, Tarpon on the Fly!

Was nice seeing him fight that tarpon on a fly rod:)

I know it's been a few days, but I thought the last episode was great. Never expected to see a tarpon on the show.

I'm with Mr. Wade on this. :-P

I see your point, but it just seems they're reaching a little too much with storylines. I'll still be watching it every Sunday night regardless, though.

Personally, I like the fact that there is a fishing show out there that goes after something other than LMB, Northern Pike, or Walleye...... yeah, I may never fish for the exotic species that Jeremy Wade does, but I do enjoy watching him catch them.

Any show that pursues freshwater fish......usually large freshwater fish......is OK in my book.

Go get 'em, Jeremy!!
