Fortunately for you Carl, I do know the smell of the papermills. We have 6 recycling facility here, including papermills. Nasty crap that made me cry every time I was within 2 miles of them.

The funny thing about those little buggers are, they got sprayed with so much pesticides and herbicides, they became immune to quite a bit of the current day chemical store brands. We then specialize a chemical cocktail to kill these buggers, and they're adapting to the new cocktail, based on the old generation genetic adaptation to the old pesticides. We'll have superbugs pretty soon.

struck the polical comment John... just a logical statement

I am a bit concerned of breaking rules of political nature here ,but I was under the impression that a logging industry run by residents of the area would have the sense to manage better than a Federal land grabbing approach but I am not in a position to judge.

Logging industries also cannot understand the biological dangers and balance, where they focused mainly on growing and harvesting. I worked with Dept of Forestry, as well as logging companies, where the two could not see eyes-to-eyes. Hell broke loose between these two, since one focused on preservation, while the other was profits. Me, I'm in the middle, pointing at the craps the downstream habitats and communities were suffering, where profits were dwarfed by the costs of the tax payers from 200 to 3000x more than what the companies made per year.

I am not astute about this subject Leo but that was my 1st thought ! Perhaps my cynicism was heightened  because shortly before I read an article about how the logging industry was being threatened by mismanagement by the BLM .

Biocontrol..the funny part about biocontrol is, benefit to one part, may be a problem in the later parts, if the predation species is not local to the local states. Chemicals will be..well..chemicals. Can you feel the burns?
