Do you love big bluegill?

I see where alot of you guys make your own, as i have also. I made some out of PVC pipe that fit in my oar locks. Looking for a new design.

Let's post up some pic's and share our designs. ( i will when i figure how to post a pic)

When you figure that out, let me know, too - will you?
Check out some of the catfishing sites, I have seen some good ideas on some of them.
I just saw a neat idea today - a guy had taken a five gallon bucket and cut a 2 X 4 to fit across the opening - he screwed it in with drywall screws and then mounted a couple of those inexpensive clamp on rod holders to the 2 X 4. He puts some weight in the bucket and sits it in the middle of his canoe with one rod holder facing each side - then he "trolls" with his canoe. Pretty effective too - saw him have two trout (stockers) on at the same time and then he caught a couple of nice gils a few minutes later.

Thats pretty good. Ive had the idea of hanging the holders on the outside of the bucket - leaving me room to sit on top.

Ive got one of those bucket "tackle box" seat in mind. Add a rod holder on each side of the bucket, and you're set. Here in South Carolina we have a funny little law that says you can have as many rods as you want in a boat, but only two on the shore.

Here you go Charles, how about this set up??? You can see the new holder thats on the bar in the background of the second shot from yesterday,,,

oh and my secrets out,, now you guys know what I do with my gills...   ; )

John, thats a nice catfish there son and the rod holders are great too

us welders have a distinct advantage! all of mine are made from 316 stainless and will last til the end of the world.

I have made mine from pvc pipe, hose clamps and cutoff coal mine roof bolts, they work great and cheap too.
