Do you love big bluegill?
we have been catching a lot of large crappie and a few blue gill, using fat head shinners (rosy reds)...in pond in laplata, md.....also, lots of very large crappie, near the woodrow wilson bridge, in oxon hill, md...some up to 14 inches....and a couple of 15s...nothing under 11 inches...looking forward to bluegill to turn on...

I hear you Brian....normally it's Good Friday in coastal N.C., but based on what I saw today, I believe it's going to pick up in March barring any big arctic air blast.....
When the dogwoods bloom is a good indicator.
An old gentleman (Earl) in N.C. told me that and when the dogwoods come in bloom the crappies would bite and we caught crappies lots of them so it's hard to argue with success.
