Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Is it possible to catch bluegill at night with a light shining down to the bottom in an adjacent hole?

I have had limited success, here in northwest Kansas. We mostly catch crappie and hybrids with lights.I would check your state regs. though,I know you can't use a light in Minnesota.Bruce's idea on oxygen levels has put me to work though!!!
During daylight hours while you're ice fishing, how deep do you have to go to find bluegill?
Currently fishing in 15 feet of water, but the fish can be found in the entire water column.Early morning and at dusk they are often below the ice, will often take a jig at the bottom of the hole. Have had some success at midday just under the ice as well. Am trying to find the suspended fish (lake is 40' max) but have yet to spend the time.
