Do you love big bluegill?

According to those who are close to Jeffrey Abney, the sadden news has fallen upon our eyes and ears. Mr. Abney had passed in the recent night from a falling health.

To BBG, Jeffrey Abney is an avid angler. The posting of his fishing adventures, in which he told the tales of the his grand expeditions with his family members, left impressions upon the BBG's family. Although Mr. Abney doesn't post his own photos from his adventure, Jeffrey Abney, his son, did. To us, Mr. Abney is a BBG family member, and he will be missed.

Let's raise our glasses to cheer for a great man, with plenty of grand adventures that he shared with us, and bless his new journey heaven-wards, where he will be enjoy his blessed honey holes way before us.

Jeffery, so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing, my deepest condolences to you and your family. Sadly, only time is able to ease our pain in the loss of a loved one. However, I hope you may find some solace in reflecting upon the memories of all the good times and fishing trips you were able to share with your dad throughout your lifetime. May God wrap his loving arms around The Abney family during your time of need!

Jeffery, I'm sorry to hear of your Fathers passing. My prayers go out to you and your family.

Oh man, this bites.  Jeff, please accept my deepest condolences for you and your family.

So sorry to hear of your dads passing, Jeff.
Having lost both of my parents, I can speak from the heart in saying this time will try your faith, your patience and your perseverance.
But push on my friend, and remember the good times. You've kept a good log, recording your adventures with your dad, and that can always serve to remind you of the blessing he was. I wish I had such a reminder of my own father.
Grief is never easy. We hope its an "A to B" passage, quick and easy. But its usually more like a twisted knot, doubling back and often starting over. Just hang in there, old pal.
In closing, I'd like to share a parable poem that has always held me in good stead when faced with the passing of friends and loved ones.
I hope it pleases you:

Gone From Sight, or What is Dying
by Rev. Luther F. Beecher

"I am standing upon the seashore.

A ship, at my side, spreads her sails to the moving breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength.

I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky mingle with each other.
Then, someone at my side says, 'There, she is gone.'

'But, gone where,' I wonder?

Why, gone from my sight. That is all.

She is still just as large in mast, hull, and spar, as she was when she left my side.

She is still just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.

Her diminished size is only in me - not in her.

And just at the moment when someone here says, 'There, she is gone...'

There are others watching here coming, and other voices stand ready to take up the glad  shout:

'Here she comes!!'

And that, is dying."
